Hogan/Andre II

How far in advance was the Hogan/Andre rematch in the 1st Main Event planned out? did they know there was going to be a rematch before they did the WM III match? If Andre wasn’t able to come back after Wrestlemania III, how would they have gotten the title off of Hulk?

Also when Hogan joined the NWO in ’96, did they have a plan to turn him back at some point, or was that never plotted out until it came out of nowhere in ’99?

​Original plan for Wrestlemania 4 was Hogan-Andre in a cage, and that was plotted back pretty far in advance because they would stupid not to do a rematch of the then-biggest match of all time. If Andre hadn’t been able to come back I imagine they would have just done some wacky screwjob to put it on Dibiase directly, or else just kept it on Hogan.

When Hogan turned in 96 it was kind of the nuclear option, so I don’t think there was much thought given, but typically everyone always turns back again so it had to be in the back of their mind. But at that point it was pretty much "Hogan turns or he’s done as top guy" anyway. ​
