Changing the Format

By Scott Keith on May 13, 2016

> I’ve got a few ideas on ways that WWE could change the format of their shows, and wanted to see what you think of them.
>
> 1. Go with the talk show format. Currently WWE has three hours of Raw and two hours of SmackDown for five hours of programming each week. Would the shows be more entertaining if they went with one hour a night, five nights a week? Or maybe even just running four nights a week with either four one-hour and fifteen minute shows, or having one two-hour show with three one-hour shows. They could even brand certain nights of the week around specific people or divisions.

> 2. Use rounds instead of matches being one fall. Steve Austin has talked about watching British matches that used the round format, and spoke highly about how each round was like its own little match. Plus WWE could stop relying on roll up finishes and logically beat people without actually beating them.

> 4. Use multiple announce teams for each show. Both Raw and Nitro used to do this when they went to two or more hours. Really it would just be an excuse to not have to hear the same babble from Cole, JBL, and the other guy nonstop.

2, 3 and 4 don’t do much for me, but I think #1 is a fantastic idea. Same content, easier to digest. Never happen because USA wants specific time slots filled for ad revenue reasons and such, but in a perfect world this would be much better.
