Has HHH got off lightly?
By Scott Keith on April 2, 2016
Hey Scott
Obviously a LOT of the focus on the Wrestlemania ‘main event’ and how little gravitas it has had been focused on Roman Reigns, but is HHH not just as big as a problem?
Three years of Authority overkill have led to boredom, not a desire to see HHH get his comeuppance. Plus it’s weird how HHH the authority figure has actually played so little a part in the build up. It’s been played up as some kind of blood feud but it’s been so botched with the conflicting face/heel actions and reactions it just comes off as a mess.
I know HHH has cred in the bank for NXT, but personally he’s more of a reason for my disinterest in the title match than Reigns. As soon as I see him pick up a mic I just fast-forward, I have no interest in seeing HHH the World Champion in 2016. Has Reigns covered it up, or is there a definite feeling of this around as we head to Mania?
Thanks (and enjoy Mania weekend)
Already had my Wrestlemania last night.
And yeah, HHH as a character has really been going through the motions, even more than Roman. If that’s possible. He’s really done nothing with the title, when the feeling should be "Oh my god, the evil authority figures are holding our title hostage!" and instead there’s basically been no champion for two months and we’re all like "Meh, better that than Roman, I guess." It’s just a really, really poorly built and booked main event for a Wrestlemania, and we’ll get full perspective on how badly they botched it all after it’s over, I guess.
