Andre vs Studd 89 feud

Really enjoying the Observer flashbacks!

Dave is noting during this time that Andre vs Studd is pretty much bombing on the house show circuit.

Do you think it was simply due to Studd not really getting over as a face during his 89 run or was it simply fans had tired of the feud since it pretty much went on forever just a few years prior?

Also, did Vince ever think of turning Andre face and reunite Studd with Heenan to save the feud at any point?

​It was definitely due to Studd not getting over. He won the Rumble and no one cared, and then they completely ignored him on TV for months afterwards and somehow expected that people would care about the WM gig based on his prior star power. It was a really badly booked run that mostly seemed to come about because Jim Herd wanted Studd and Vince signed him out of spite. ​
