The Wrestlemania look
By Scott Keith on March 6, 2016
Hey Scott,
What is your overall opinion on the look of a Wrestlemania and its importance? For me,since ’07 (Which set up I like) they all look the same and can be one reason why they’re forgettable? Last year was different but only for the daylight. I fear this year’s will have a similar look. Hell, next year they’re back at Orlando, one of the worse looking sets up for me in ’08
I mean,we know 9 was horrible, but people remember the Ceaser Palace theme. (Ok,maybe bad example) For me,Skydome had the best look. Even at WM18. I wonder why they don’t go back there? More money offered elsewhere?
Thanks again.
They’re seemingly more about showing up the NFL these days than anything, but to be honest the Canadian dollar is dogshit right now anyway so it would financial suicide to hold a Wrestlemania up here. And y’all know me, I’m all about having unique looks and feels to different shows, and aside from Vince putting a Statue of Liberty at the New Jersey WM a couple of years ago, the WM sets have been pretty same-y for a while now and it’s made it hard to distinguish the shows from about 23 onwards. I feel like a dome would even freshen things up a bit for some reason. You know which one I really loved in retrospect for look? WM 19 from Safeco Field, which had a unique backdrop and weird zig-zaggy path to the ring. It’s a shame that they blamed that one bombing on Seattle because I’d love to see another one with that particular atmosphere.
