PPV bashing
By Scott Keith on February 1, 2016
Maybe it’s because I haven’t watched WWE TV in years, but I was surprised to see on the RR pre-show that Lawler is STILL insulting people for buying the show on PPV, calling them "idiots." Why do they keep doing this? I understand wanting to point people to buying the network, but wouldn’t trying to convince them that the Network is better be more productive than bullying your customers? I remember them doing this when the Network first started and that was close to two years ago. Who is telling them to keep say this? Vince? The WWE marketing team?
Vince. That’s his mindset in a nutshell: It’s such a great deal that you MUST be an idiot if you don’t subscribe! Even if you’re in a place (like a sizeable percentage of the US) where broadband internet isn’t actually available in a high enough quality to support the service and PPV is literally your only option! Or like Canada for a long time, where we get all the TV but only had the Network (legally) available recently, and even then in a severely limited form if you actually subscribe through the cable companies. And then you have to pay $12 instead of the $9.99 heavily advertised on all the programming.
But yeah, Vince is gonna Vince.
