Where’s the controversy?

By Scott Keith on January 25, 2016

Am I totally missing something?

HHH, the COO of the company goes to offer Roman Reigns a handshake after winning the WWE Title at Survivor Series. Reigns, totally unprovoked, attacks him with a Spear. The next month, Reigns is screwed out the title by the League of Nations and takes his aggression out on HHH, destroying him at the end of that show causing him to miss a month of TV. He assaults a 70-year old senile old man several times and is punished by the boss by being Number 1 in the Rumble (a suitable punishment). In the Rumble, Triple H enters legally, eliminates Roman legally, and eliminates Roman’s buddy legally to win the Rumble and Title. He celebrates with his wife and father in law to a chorus of cheers while Roman is booed like a villain. This sounds like the conquering hero story… only its TRIPLE FN H! They are going to sell on TV that Roman was screwed here, but it seems totally legit that HHH won, so where is the controversy?

And is a WrestleMania double main event of HHH/Reigns and Bray/Brock the worst top card ever?

It’s a really weird dynamic, to be sure. But they’re just gonna keep pushing the one story they’ve been telling since 1999, logic or changing needs of fans be damned. They couldn’t make him Steve Austin or Daniel Bryan, so maybe they’ll stumble onto another character that people will actually cheer for?

And I’d still vote WM27, with Cena-Miz and Undertaker-HHH, as the worst ever. First WM where I not only didn’t order it, but didn’t even watch it until years later.
