Movie with wrestling influences
By Scott Keith on January 17, 2016
Hey Scott! Longtime reader here and proud to have Tonight In This Very Ring in my library. I was wondering if you could give me a plug for the crowdfunding campaign for an indie film I’m making. The film is called 200 Miles From Hell and the campaign can be found at http://igg.me/at/200milesfromhell
There is even a loose connection to professional wrestling! The producers are all big wrestling fans and that influenced some of the action scenes of our prior film, 100 Miles From Hell, for which this is the sequel. We incorporated table and chair spots into one of the fight scenes and we have a scene where two guys fight on the back of a moving truck that was inspired by the infamous King of the Road match from Uncensored! And we, a bunch of indie filmmakers on a shoe string budget, managed to have less continuity errors in it than WCW, a multi-million dollar corporation with years of experience. Think about that if you ever wonder why WCW doesn’t exist today. Maybe saying you did something "better than WCW" can be like a shorthand way of bragging about doing something merely competently.
Thanks
Ian
