Sheamus over Reigns
By Scott Keith on November 24, 2015
Wasn’t there a time where Sheamus was over as a babyface? He was getting pretty good reactions, kids were dressing up as him, etc. While he’s not going to draw flies as a heel champion (and let’s face it, Seth Rollins didn’t either) am I crazy in thinking that there was a time where Sheamus was just as good of an option to be the "next Cena" as Roman Reigns is?
He was definitely HHH’s guy for a while, but around the time of the Daniel Bryan win he just kinda hit the wall and couldn’t get past the next level. Whereas someone like Randy Orton tweaked the character to be the crazy predator or whatever, Sheamus just kind of kept being the big Irish guy who says "Fella" and hits people with the Brogue kick, bubbling below the main event. And that’s a better spot than a lot of people get, but it’s not a top guy and I’m not sure exactly what he’s missing. But it’s definitely missing.
