Wrestler’s Memories
By Scott Keith on October 8, 2015
Scott, how strong do you think wrestlers’ own personal memories of their own careers/legacies are? I only ask this as just this week I’ve read a Paul McCartney interview where he admits he’s not always sure which of his tracks are on which albums etc. Pierce Brosnan also jokes on the 50th anniversary Bond doc that he gets his own timeline blurred…..
I’m guessing that a Jericho or Foley knows exactly who they faced at any given PPV but some guys just won’t have any sense of this kind of superfan stuff.
I know this will come as a shock to everyone on the blog, but I’m also getting older and I get shit confused all the time that I used to have memorized stone cold. No, no, don’t try to argue, it’s true. Obviously wrestlers have even bigger problems with this issue due to years of substances being taken and shots to the head, but Bret Hart I think ended up the most easily believed because he literally wrote everything down in a diary all through the 80s and 90s, which made for a much more accurate book.
Really, the most important point is…wait, what was the question?
