Most Wins

By Scott Keith on October 5, 2015

Hi Scott –
Who – either in your opinion or backed up by data – has the most wins in the history of pro wrestling?  If you want to impress me, you can give me the person(s) with the most  pinfalls, submissions, countouts, DQ’s, and total victories.
I’m not talking about the percentage of matches won – or maybe a better way to put it is a “percentage of matches NOT LOST” – but if you want to talk about that, that may be an interesting discussion as well.

Well it’s gotta be Lou Thesz, you’d think.  He was on top forever and only did like 6 or 7 major jobs past a certain point.  And once he got phased out on top it’s not like he was doing jobs.  Plus he was working a crazy schedule in his prime. Ric Flair, for example, was also on top long-term but mostly lost by DQ or did draws.  Bruno should be right up there, but he worked a much lighter schedule.  Ditto for Andre, who rarely lost but only worked once in a while.  And Hogan was on top for a decade and you can literally count his losses on one hand.  So I’d probably go with either Thesz or Hogan.
