The night is darkest just before the dawn?

Hey Scott,
Could the ratings going down the drain actually turn out to be a good thing? Could they possibly convince USA to not only go back to two hours but to let them reinstate a much needed roster split? Wasn’t the entire reason WWE ended the split was because USA wanted all the stars on their channel? That becomes a pointless argument in January with both Raw and Smackdown on USA.
No, because the dreadful third hour of RAW is still higher-rated than pretty much anything else they could plop into that time slot, and at this point RAW is pretty much propping up USA’s cable averages despite not making them very much on ad revenues. That third hour is basically held in place by inertia, and it’s not going away.
And the solution for Smackdown isn’t another brand split, it’s a cancellation. It’s truly the most pointless show offered right now by WWE.
