Cena champ irony

Scott,
You posted that the ratings were so low they should give the title back to Cena… But he won his first title 10 years ago and during the "Decade of Cena" haven’t the rating continually dipped lower and lower. Sure there are Mania spikes, and the return of certain wrestlers. But hasn’t the 2005-2015 decade produced the lowest ratings/ppv buyrates of probably any 10 year period? Sure they have the network now, and sure there’s no competition but aside from house show numbers and merchandise, has Cena been best for business? If you consider his longevity and track record for beating everyone, thus aiding in the lack of new top stars, it seems Cena might actually be a business deterrent… Unless you turn him… Oh forget it.
No, Cena’s one of the only legitimate drawing cards they have left, given that they’ve completely destroyed Seth Rollins and Brock isn’t going to do house shows. The current ratings problem is also a side effect of what they’ve done with Cena, I think, where they’ve shuffled him down to the midcard level but still made everyone else look like goobers when compared to him. It probably wouldn’t even be WWE lobbying for him, either, as I bet USA would be the ones wanting him back on top to stop the bleeding. Either way, I think Summerslam was the time to get the belt off Rollins and now they’ve stretched their Honky Tonk Man booking too far with him.
