From a creative standpoint, what do you think the best year of wrestling was from both WWF & NWA/WCW? Was there ever a year, in your opinion, where they both were at high points? It always feels like when one was doing something right, the other one was messing up.


When WCW got hot in 1996 the WWF was pretty boring. When WWF was doing great from 1998-2000, WCW was pretty brutal.

Maybe 1989? Mega Powers exploding in WWF while Flair and Funk wearing tearing it up in NWA? Or 1997 if you weren’t completely sick of the NWO yet?

​I think 97 would be a fair answer. WWF was definitely hitting on all cylinders (despite lack of success in the ratings and business) and WCW had a solid build with Sting going and a good chase with the Steiners going after the Outsiders, plus the rise of DDP. Business was certainly on an upward trend for both companies. ​
