Bulldog in 1997

You’ve had a fair few Bulldog questions just lately so I’ll throw another your way:

In early 97 to around Wrestlemania it seemed like there was plans to turn Bulldog face as Owen was the jealous partner, but then just after Wrestlemania Bret comes out & wants their help which leads to the Hart Foundation group.

What were the plans for Bulldog in that time? Did the double turn at Wrestlemania change all that?

​In the grand scheme of things the long-term plan didn’t change THAT much, in that Bulldog still got a singles push in the UK as a babyface, but yes, originally it was going to be a much more overt split between the Bulldog/Owen team and obviously the Hart Foundation angle altered their trajectory 180 degrees the opposite way. ​Obviously things worked out much more awesome for Bulldog in the short-term the way we got it.
