Coliseum Video on the Network?
By Scott Keith on September 6, 2015
Hey Scott, long time blog reader here. What do you think the chances are of WWE eventually dumping all the old Colliseum Home Video releases onto the Network? Some of my fondest memories as a kid were renting the old Colisseum releases from the local video store and watching all those "exclusive" matches. I’d think it wouldn’t be too hard to dump all that stuff onto the Network, but as you’ve said before, the people running it aren’t wrestling guys, so my nostalgia is of little interest to them.
Keep up the good work!
I will say that there are 2 factors that make it likely it will happen someday:
1) They basically said at the time of the Network launch that they’d throw them up there at some point.
2) A lot of the Coliseum video releases were already digitized and put up on the 24/7 service when it was active.
That being said, as far as content goes, I am now good for many years of viewing between Nitro and PRIMETIME and the home video releases and the old World Class/ECW/house show stuff I still haven’t watched on there. I can even go back and start doing Smackdown if I wanted, too. The only problem from my end is that I find it hard to just go and watch something on there without taking the time to write a review of it. It’s kind of a compulsion of mine. Sometimes I wish I could switch off that part of my brain.
