Survivor Series stakes
By Scott Keith on August 31, 2015
Scott–
Since the blog seems to be on a Survivor Series kick, how’s this for a simple stipulation that could potentially breath a bit of life back into the erstwhile fall classic: a minimum of four traditional elimination matches (4 on 4, 5 on 5, whatever). At the end of the show–or possibly the next night on Raw…again, whatever–all of the survivors meet in a short-form battle royale. Winner gets the #30 spot in the Rumble.
Too complex and vague. Last year worked because it was easy to understand and had a clear goal for the babyfaces: Win the match and the Authority is gone. The 2010 Series with the Orton-Barrett title match also had a similar effective stip before they pussed out and wouldn’t pull the trigger on Barrett. But then they were building to the Miz anyway so I can understand that one.
Like for example this year is obviously building to Roman’s Team (Reigns, Ambrose & The Usos I’d assume) v. Wyatt Family (Bray, Harper, big dude, Vintner) so why not throw in a “Roman never gets another title shot v. Wyatt Family disbands forever” stip in there? Easy to understand, and it’s real stakes. Just something like that.
