2 questions

By Scott Keith on August 31, 2015

1. you recently said that nxt is a money loser for the company. I understand the logistics but could you go into more detail about it? at what point would it be worth to just pluck indy guys out and have them debut like when people jumped wcw/ecw? Is is 50/50 on the importance of training refs/ring workers/camera and production crews as much as wrestlers?

2. So they realize that wcw actually makes money based off of 3 nitro dvds, goldberg dvd, etc, sting at Mania and now NOC and i know the answer the answer to this question, but is it just pride that prevents them from using wcw ppv names? you cant tell me that clash of champions isnt better than NOC or great american bash than battleground or anything better than fastlane? If you were in charge and could name all 12 ppv names what would you put where?

Example
Jan- Royal Rumble
February- Superbrawl
March/April- Wrestlemania
April- Extreme Rules
May-King of the Ring
June- Money in the Bank
July- Great american Bash
August- Summerslam
September-Fall Brawl
Oct- Halloween Havoc
Nov -Survivor Series
Dec- Starrcade

1. Yeah, they went into the NXT deal knowing that it was going to be a huge money loser, but given that it’s driving business to the Network and producing usable talent at a good rate (faster than they can clear out room on the main roster, in fact) I’d say it’s a very worthwhile investment. And training referees and production guys is equally important, especially the production staff. We need Kevin Dunn’s Tough Enough, where he berates young cameramen for not shaking the camera violently enough when something happens in the ring, and teaches young directors how best to offer pushes to Divas in exchange for sexual favors.

2. I feel like the only two names that are really wasted doing nothing at this point are Halloween Havoc and Starrcade. SuperBrawl was a good name, but it’s not like someone couldn’t have thought that up on their own, ya know? Hell in a Cell is such a wasted show now that you might as well do a Halloween theme instead, and of course TLC is the most throwaway of all shows and can easily be replaced with Starrcade.
