Malenko question for site

Why did Joe Malenko never get more than brief cups of coffee in the US? I remember him VERY early on, teaming with his brother, in Florida indies. Seemed just as talented, and certainly remained active globally about as long as his brother did.

​Dunno, he basically disappeared from wrestling after 1995 and presumably retired to run the Malenko training school, but I don’t know if there was specific reasoning behind it. Any insight, readers?​
