Rude/WWF falling out in 1990

What was the main reason for Rick Rude abruptly leaving the WWF in the fall of 1990?

I have heard over the years Rude was upset over his payouts at house shows prior to leaving and WWF was advertising him at events knowing he was injured but was that the main reason?

Also, was there heat put on him because his summer run with The Warrior bombed at the house show box office?

​Any heat was on the Warrior, not Rude. And yeah, the false advertising thing was really the thing that drove him away, especially after he injured himself doing that schedule and then lost out on all the money from his name. ​
