Why didnt Jack Brisco go to work for WWE like Gerald did?

​I’m assuming he just wanted out of the business to go run his body shop. I mean, the story goes that he was basically the guy to convince everyone to sell off Georgia to Vince in 84, so obviously he had no long-term goals for himself in wrestling at that point.
