Does Scott Keith have Blue Jay Fever?!

By Scott Keith on August 12, 2015

It’s BonzaiDBSM, former top-5 commentator (damn you, new domain!) and the BoD fantasy sports guru. I know you’ve mentioned falling out of the Blue Jay fold after the Delgado days, but you feeling any excitement over your surging national squad? In the span of two weeks, the Jays have erased the Yankees’ 8-game lead and with a win/Yankees loss today (Aug 12th) could be in first place this late in the season for the first time in 22 years. You know, the year they won their second title.

Apparently, when you have two of the very best players on the planet leading off in your lineup (Troy Tulowitzki and the Bringer of Rain, Josh Donaldson) followed by two guys who can hit the ball to the moon in The Animal Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion, and get one of the best pitchers in the game to fortify your otherwise shaky rotation (and immediately makes everyone better), you tend to win a lot of ballgames and all of a sudden look like a big threat in a wide-open AL. Are you starting to feel the old SkyDome magic or are you shrugging it off like another Cena/Orton angle?

I’m all about the Jays again, especially after the trade deadline. I don’t know that it’ll be back to the WAMCO days or anything, but they’ve been playing exciting ball for the past few weeks and Rogers Centre has been awesome. And the great part is that the more that the dome sells out, the more money that the team has to make sure they don’t backslide into the bad days of the last 2 decades again. I was even watching the end of the Yankees-Indians game last night!
