Randy Orton – Legend or Just Legend Killer?
By Scott Keith on July 30, 2015
Mr. Keith!
What kind of legacy (no pun intended) do you think Randy Orton would leave behind if he retired today? He could still have a long career ahead of him but it almost seems like he’s climbed the mountain as far as he can go. He may be a multi-time champion but it doesn’t feel like he’s ever risen to the same level of importance to wrestling history as Cena or even Edge or Punk. I dropped off of wrestling for a few years in the late 00s, so am I just missing something? When historians look back at his career, how do you think he will compare to wrestlers like Jericho, Bryan, and Batista in terms of contribution to the sport?
Thanks very much!

Well I mean, being a bazillion time World champion is still pretty impressive. But no, he’s never been the guy that has carried WWE on his back like a Cena or Lesnar or even HHH did. I think the most important factor at this point would be "Does WWE trust his drawing power enough to use a Brock Lesnar PPV date on him?" The answer in this case is "no", so I can’t see a strong case for him as a Hall of Fame-level top guy.
