NXT Women On Raw Segment

Hi, Scott. What are your thoughts on the Raw segment with the NXT women? I know your tagline as far as predicting how it will eventually play out, but what did you think of the segment on its own (specifically the setting up of three trios/factions and the composition of said teams)?

I thought it was a little weird to do it the week before a PPV that currently does not have any women’s match advertised, and any follow-up might be a little overshadowed by Battleground fallout. Maybe they thought Atlanta would have a better reaction than Missouri?

​What is this, the NXT Women’s e-mail night or something? Literally 15 seconds after I posted that last e-mail about the women, I got this e-mail.

My thoughts on the segment are that it reminded me a lot of the ECW/WCW merger angle, and not in a good way. It took three weeks of angles and shoved it into one segment. Paige should have brought her backup (Charlotte) and then the next week Naomi should have brought out her backup (Sasha) and then the next week you set up that feud and so on. And why not just bring up Bayley at the same time? She’s exactly what they need to open up the market for young girls who worship her in NXT. Like really the whole thing amounted to putting off the angle for months and then suddenly doing months of payoffs in one night. It’s not good storytelling, but that’s hardly a surprise.
