Were there any original feud ideas for Kerry when he came into the WWF before replacing Brutus Beefcake and winning the IC title from Curt Henning at Summerslam? Also, was his reign supposed to be longer before the office decided right off the bat he was too big of a risk to carry the title long term?
Nah, the whole thing was very last minute and short-term planning. Obviously Beefcake was the guy who was supposed to be big star and that went out the window. I know Vince is in the bubble a lot of the time, but I really don't think that even he would have been foolish enough to just forget the history and trust Kerry as any kind of long term champion. They knew they were getting damaged goods.
