Most Talented Performer
By Scott Keith on May 9, 2014
Scott,
Hope all is well. Mostly for purposes of board fodder, I took a whack at naming the top five best all around PERFORMERS of my viewing history (dating back to the early 80s). Again: this includes all aspects of "this business", so managers, valets, announcers, etc., are fair game; provided, however, they need to have shown at least some aptitude for in-ring work as well (as that is part of "this business"). Basically, in my mind any of these workers could fill any public-facing role (play by play, manager, color commentator) and do so admirably. Happy to know your thoughts.
1. The Rock
2. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
3. Ric Flair
4. James E. Cornette
5. Jake "The Snake" Roberts/"Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig
PS: Are we really discounting that the "fight" is a staged gimmick meant to easily leverage Sheamus's forthcoming heel turn? Hunico is smaller, Sheamus is a natural for the "Big Bully" role, Hunico is a little dude and HHH has already shown a willingness to game the system with real/fake stories. I'm no conspiracy theory cat, but let's be a little jaundiced.
Best,
PAK
Your list seems pretty fair to me.
As for Sheamus's deal, he apparently got beat up by Hunico, which wouldn't exactly lend itself to him being a bully.
