HHH/Vince in 1999-2000

Great recap of the wedding episode, one of those special moments that I remember vividly nearly 15 years later (half the floor in my college dorm stopped by to see what was going on, even non-fans)

Question is – what was the issue between Vince and HHH in the first place that led Vince to be screwing HHH out of the title at Survivor Series and then HHH to screw Vince by marrying his drugged asleep daughter? I have absolutely no recollection of why they were fighting/hated each other in the first place.

Second, related question – we established that Stephanie turned to Hunter's side because of some kind of Stockholm syndrome/brainwashing from Hunter regarding Vince using her in the whole Higher Power/Ministry deal, so what was the explanation for why Vince turned over to Hunter's side, screwing Rock at WM and being firmly with Hunter by Backlash?

Damn, that was an awesome 6 months…
