Originally, Punk was planned to cut a promo on Kane about being attacked at the Royal Rumble match but that idea was dropped at some point yesterday.

Why Did Daniel Bryan’s Promo Lead off RAW?

According to a source, the decision was made to put Bryan in the opening segment with the idea that if the crowd saw him first, they wouldn’t hijack other portions of the show by chanting his name.
