JeriShow

Scott, was working an overnight ER shift and due to a lack of crackheads, domestic disputes, and gun violence I got to watch some old WWE stuff.
I'm personally a huge fan of Jericho and Big Show but can't shake the felling that they never lived up to their hype/potential. They've had careers that 95% of other pro wrestlers envy, set themselves up for life financially, and have had multiple title runs, but something has always seemed to be missing. They were never top level draws, prolonged main event center pieces and at times grating on tv. Were they just overhyped coming in? Held back by work habits or political stuff? Did Vince just not want to consistently push WCW guys? Or am I just an idiot and their career have played out as expected? I know you don't watch the NBA but they remind me of Chris Webber, supremely talented and a hall of famer, just never lived up to expectations. Thanks

Well HHH HATED Jericho for quite a while at the beginning of his WWF run, so there was no chance of Jericho going anywhere further up the card until he got past that hurdle. I'm pretty sure they're fine with each other now, but Jericho was definitely held back by politics for a long while there.
With Show it's definitely overexposure. A little goes a long way with that type of character, and Russo just burned him out with the audience early on and the mystique was gone. I wouldn't even call Show overhyped because he wasn't promoted at all on the way in.
