Will MMA kill TNA?
By Scott Keith on January 9, 2013
Scott,
I was thinking about when Raw was the lead in to the Ultimate Fighter. At first it was a perfect way to introduce fans of wrestling to MMA (UFC specifically). Once the show hit, WWE left back to the USA network without much resistance and Spike built their whole channel around the UFC.. Could using TNA as the lead in to Bellator next January potentially kill the company? Especially when there doesn't seem like there would be a lot of networks wanting to steal them away. I know Spike also has a Bellator reality show in the works as well. Just seems awfully familiar.
Bellator's own fighters are trying to go to UFC because they can't make money there. They're not killing anything. Plus the debut special did about half of TNA's rating, so if Russo and Hogan and Bischoff combined couldn't kill TNA, Bellator certainly isn't going to.
