Blog Questions

By Scott Keith on June 4, 2012

Hi Scott –

I came across your blog about 6 months ago, and have been a faithful reader ever since. I enjoy your commentaries and reviews, but I was hoping you could provide some insight on some of the jokes or references.
1.) What is the story behind "MAIN EVENT SLEEPER/KNEE DROP/Random move here"?

2.) The tagline on the blog says "Let it play out and see where it goes" – is there a story behind that?

3.) Is there a way to sort the blog by article content? Like, if I wanted to read just the old WCW Nitro reviews (god knows why), can you filter it by subject matter?
Keep up the GREAT work –

1) It comes from HHH trying to get the lamest shit possible over as killer finishers back in 2002, where he'd beat jobbers with sleepers and spinebusters and it was supposed to make the moves cool for everyone else to use again, too. Didn't work out that way.

2) It's mainly from Zack Ryder's aborted push late last year, where I was constantly complaining that everything they did to him after the US title win was destroying his character and making him into a jobber, and a contingent on the blog would always reply with "Let it play out!" type of stuff. Then after Brock lost to Cena, it sort of turned into a meme on the blog.
3) Nope. But there's a blog search box on the right hand side. You can technically click on the tags on the posts to call up a list of posts tagged with that, but with my posts 90% of them are done via e-mail, which doesn't allow me to add those tags.
